This project brought an un-used and out of date space back to life with a simple palette of materials and plants.
By replacing the existing yorkstone paving and steps with contemporary grey sandstone the space was modernised.
Alterations to existing site levels made the garden more practical and useable, whilst the artificial lawn replaced the patchy turf to add texture and functionality without the need for constant maintenance.
Pleached Carpinus betulus trees along one side of the garden gave balance and enclosure while a mid-height Taxus hedge helped to divide the garden into two levels.
The new planting scheme combined evergreen structure with mixed herbaceous forms.
