The garden was created for a client who loves to spend time in the garden, relaxing and designing whilst wanting to create a link with their kitchen. The immediate timber decked area addressing the kitchen / living area provides a continuation of the internal timber chevron style flooring.
Small aggregate gravel chipping’s then becomes the main surface throughout and is broken up by natural stone plank paving which provides direction through the garden. Encompassing the space we have introduced deep green & calming colours as well as various planting textures which are offset even further by the black backdrops in the space.
The project was awarded for a Pro Landscaper’s Small Project Big Impact award in 2019 within the design and build category. These awards appreciate the minute details in the design, build and facilitation of small but tricky projects.
Furthermore, the project was shortlisted for a New London Architecture ‘Dont Move, Improve Awards 2019. The architecture was a collaboration between SAM Architects and Lunar Architects, with interior design by Brockley House and garden by GRDN.
